Shane Battier is Doing Movember

Saw that Tom Haberstroh tweeted that Shane Battier is not shaving the hair on his upper lip for the all-November long event of raising awareness for prostate cancer known as Movember.

Battier is the perfect NBA player to be the unofficial player rep as he rocks as stellar of a mustache as they come (see photo above).  That's a photo from last May when Shane was just growing out a mustache for funsies, but I'm hoping he keeps his stache as lined up for this month as he did last year.

With the holidays coming up, I figure we all will have a little more time to go to the doctor's.  So since I can't grow any facial hair, this will serve as my awareness and reminder to get our prostates checked.

Boards: Nikola Vujecic got em all. Or at least it seemed that way. He had 21 to go along with 30 points.

Cardio:
Scola going across the length of the court
Scola stealing, sprinting and finishing.

Bad Day:
Guess Larry Sanders didn't learn from Tony Parker's lesson about getting hanging out at bars and clubs, cause he missed last night's game with a thumb injury after a 'nightclub incident'.

No matter, cause Milwaukee won on Caron Butlers huge tip in with less than a minute to go. Good thing Caron didnt celebrate the same way he did against the Celtics.

Bad Day #2:
Vince Carter got crossed over, elbowed in the head and thrown out of the game. Plus Westbrook and Durant were making shots like these all night.

Hooray: Anthony Bennett made first NBA bucket, a three, last night. Now that he's got the first one out of the way, he's got to improve on that 1 for 20 statistic he's logged.

Not completely necessary but niiiiiice:

Reunited:
Gordan Hayward played the Celtics and his old college coach, Brad Stevens. He must have made his old coach proud with his 28-9-5 line. Boston ended up getting the win, so a good day for the first year Celtics coach.

Other: Roy Hibbert doin some self-promotion...congrats to Zach Randolph on the birth date of baby zbo...The Denver Nuggets work out with Billy Blanks.

Noteworthy: 11/5/2013

Dang: Zach Harper said it best. Not sure if Monta is the most improved, but the way hes operating as the mavs playmaker while still being an elite shotmaker is really fun to watch.  Example, 30 points on 14 shots, 9 assists, and only 1 turnover tonight. He almost doesn't even look like the Monta we used to know.

Followin' your shot: Tim Hardaway Jr. scoring two the hard-a-way?

Dagger: Kemba Walker's stepback jumper seems to be really on when he plays at MSG.  Check the UCONN version and then the one from last night (below).

Numbers: Roy Hibbert had 8 points, which was one more than the number of blocks (7) he had, and one more than the whole Atlanta Hawks team had (6).  Pacers still undefeated.

Something about the PH:  Even though PHiladelphia is no longer undefeated, PHoenix is still racking up wins as they are now 3-1 after beating the Pelicans last night.  Good first week for the /f/sounding NBA teams.

Flyin':  In the starting line-up for the first time this season, Kenneth Faried makes nice highlights in the air

First: Heat got their first road win of the year against the Raptors.  Lebron got a little too excited and started hot-doggin' at the end

Similar: Both Al Horford and Paul Millsap had 20+ points and 10+ boards tonight in their win against the Kings.  Harry the Hawk was pretty psyched about this win.  Enough to puff up his feathers in a 13 video clip about it.

Other: Thanks Dime magazine for making it known that Victor Oladipo has some pipes...Michael Redd is retiring...if the Knicks don't start winning, James Dolan might get rid of the knicks dancers altogether (he's already trying to get them to stop dancing), which makes about zero percent sense...not a surprise, bismack biyambo is the least passed to player in the league...c'mon now Dennis schroeder.

John Stockton, Ultimate Love Guru

Check out this honest and hilarious interview with one of the greatest point guards in the history of basketball about how he married his long-time wife.

Some Highlights:

"Twofer Coupon on the first"
"Painting with my momma on the second"
"Police ruined the first proposal"
"Sweatpants and Romance"
"Wrong word"

Not surprised by how humble of a courtship the Stocktons had, cause in terms of NBA players and even people in general, John Stockton always came off as one of those low-key and low-maintenance type of guys.  With all the stories about marriages going down the drain in professional sports and particularly in the NBA,  really hope you enjoy hearing a marriage can turn out pretty good (6 kids!) even sans all the fluff and flash that our culture makes dating out to be nowadays.  Hats off to Stock for finding his lifetime teammate and the great stories he has from the journey.
