Video: Blake Grffin At it Again with a New Gamefly Commercial

Blake really taking this awkward humor thing to the next level with this gamefly ad.  I'm not hating as long as he keeps doing his thang on the hardwood.

Plus, I'm a fan of that yelling voice he does, asking to use the restroom but not actually using it, seeing daps that get left hanging, the metaphor that you can read into of Blake Griffin not being able to control his 'jet-pack', and of course the self zinger of "never getting burned by a bad game".

Video: Paul George Explaining Why He Loves Grapes

How puh-fect of a nickname we may just have discovered for the player with the most boring name combination in the NBA.  The color commentary basically writes itself:

"George is like a grape, that becomes fine wine with more time (in the nba)." 

"Move over, Vino Bryant, cause Grapes George is coming for your spot"

The list goes on and on!  After sharing some pretty accurate facts about grapes (sweet, not a big fruit, real easy to eat), I'm a bit perturbed by how the video ends.

Specifically, I'm kind of conflicted about the rest of the story of why he and his buddies like to throw his beloved grapes back and forth when they get bored.  That doesn't jive with me as someone who truly loves his grapes and the more cynical side of me will say George is just trying to get paid by doing a commercial for some Indiana-based fruit company.

But I'm too innocent to completely go that route, so I'm hoping that perhaps the part that was edited out was that George and his friends will eat the grapes that they have thrown around at each other.    If that's the case, nothing says true fruit love as eating a bruised and battered fruit that has been touched by multiple hands.  

Video: A Reebok Commercial with A lot of Funny Faces featuring Noel, Terry and Thomas

Funny commercial cause 2 of the 3 guys probably get more minutes playing pick up like they do in the commercial than on their current team.  The 3rd guy is not playing for the whole season so good try trying to trick us into the idea that he's actually throwing down dunks in those 'boks, commercial-maker.

Also, a whole lot of grimaces and mean-mugs.

It must be Christmas for commercials starring our fave nba stars.  Early this morning there was the Lebron 'Rocky'-like Nike ad, then Blake Griffin teamed up with that weird guy from 30 rock for another Kia commercial and then Pepsi decided to release part III of the Uncle Drew Series.

Wont spoil the deets of this video, but if you caught the premise of the 1st one and the special guest in the 2nd, be prepared to be entertained by more sweatpants-wearing pretend oldies.

Video: Dikembe Mutombo Works for Geico Now

Dikembe Mutombo's still got it y'all.  Three years removed from the league and Mutombo just reminded me that when it comes to starring in a memorable advertisement, no one can match #55.  Even if Deek's "acting" in this 30 second commercial is basically what he did in the NBA for 19 years (run around, slap at/get in the way of people), you can't help but crack a smile at this mountain of a man.

It should impress the everyday fan to know that Dikembe was the founder of the goofy NBA player commercial.  All those stoney-face monotone lines delivered by Blake-KIA?  Learnt from Mutombo, probably.

Now that this commercial has aired during the Super Bowl, men-women-children alike should know that before Griffin and Kevin Durant were even old enough to watch saturday morning cartoons, Mutombo was trailblazing a path for NBA players to star in their own awkward NBA advertisements.

Video: A Catchy-Phrased Brandon Jennings Video

New Underarmor spot starring yours and my favorite dancing Buck.  Highlights include one of my fave mascots, Bango the Buck and B.Jennings transforming into a cartoon.  Lots going on here, almost to the point of feeling  like the directors were trying a little too hard to be all hipster and junk.  That's a losing effort btw, cause apparently only thing hipster about the bucks is possibly rocking an old school big dog robinson jersey, and even I'm not too sure that qualifies.
 
Whatevs though.  Still enough here to pay attention to involving the aforementioned cool mascot and cool roger rabbit graphics. Also it's "your boy" and not anyone else's boy "who's doing it", so glad that at least that part is clear.

Dwyane Wade is a tattle-tale

Mr. Wade got some front-row fashionista in Utah thrown out last night.

For proof see the video below.  A scary coincidence that the security guard doing the 'throwing' out looks like my 5th grade teacher. Whatever Mr. studs on his white pants did, it worked as Wade and the Heat were beat by 7 despite a ferocious 4th quarter comeback after Wade tattled and got the bro thrown out.

 Way worth it, jazzie brother.

Halloween has come and gone and the idea of dressing up in a costume will be socially frowned up again.


Except if you're a young NBA superstar like Kyrie Irving.  In the second installment of the Uncle Drew series, Pepsi and the Cavs guard proves once again that you can make up for the embarrassment of wearing granny or in this case grandpappy panties by embarrassing others even more by schooling them on the court.
